 Dennis C. Friedman, M.D., F.A.C.C.

FriedmanDr. Dennis C. Friedman is the Director of the Shady Grove Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Medical Director of Inpatient Cardiac Services at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital,  Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Facility of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and the Director of Research at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Dr. Friedman is also the managing partner at Cardiac Associates, P.C.

Dr. Dennis C. Friedman attended Trinity College in Connecticut and obtained his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was an intern, resident, and chief medical resident at George Washington University and a cardiology fellow at Georgetown University. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Professional interests include invasive and interventional cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and preventive cardiac care.

 

Gregory H. Fisher, M.D., F.A.C.C.

FisherDr. Gregory H. Fisher is the Chair Person of cardiology and Director of the Catheterization Laboratory at Montgomery General Hospital. 

Dr. Gregory H. Fisher attended Georgetown University before he obtained his medical degree at University of Maryland School of Medicine. This was followed by his residency at Montefiore Hospital, University Health Center of Pittsburgh and Fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital. He is currently Director of Laurel Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention. Dr. Fisher is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Professional interests include invasive and interventional cardiology.

 

Robert L. Gold, M.D., F.A.C.C.

GoldDr. Robert L. Gold is the Director of Electrophysiology at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He was also the former Director of the Electrophysiologic (EP) Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts and established the EP  lab at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Dr. Robert L. Gold attended the University of Maryland. He continued at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Gold's cardiology fellowship was completed at George Washington University. Dr. Gold is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and specializes in cardiac arrhythmias. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Gold's professional interests include cardiac electrical disorders and pacemakers.  

 

D. Leonard Griffen III, M.D., F.A.C.C.

GriffenDr. D. Leonard Griffen is the Chairman of Cardiology at Laurel Regional Hospital. 

Dr. D. Leonard Griffen obtained his undergraduate degree at Iowa State University and his medical degree from University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship at the National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Griffen also completed additional training in echocardiography Laboratory at Duke University. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases as well as Advanced Echocardiography. Dr. Griffen specializes in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography. His professional interests include diagnostic cardiology, congestive heart failure, and adult congenital disease.

Richard I. Weinstein, M.D., F.A.C.C.

WeinsteinDr. Richard I. Weinstein is Director of the Chest Pain Center and the Echocardiography Laboratory at Montgomery General Hospital.

Dr. Weinstein attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut and received his medical degree from University of Maryland. Dr. Weinstein was a resident and intern at George Washington University and a cardiology fellow at the University of Maryland. Dr. Weinstein acquired additional training in nuclear cardiology testing during his fellowship. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases.  His professional interests include cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echo, and nuclear cardiology.

      Thomas J. Odar, M.D., F.A.C.C.

OdarDr. Thomas J. Odar is the current Chief of the Cardiology Subsection at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He is also the current Director of the Acute Chest Pain Center at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Dr. Thomas J. Odar obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame. He then went to law school at Georgetown University Law Center where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. Thereafter, Dr. Odar attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he obtained his medical degree. He did his residency and cardiology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Odar is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. He specializes in echocardiography, cardiac catheterization and nuclear imaging studies. Additionally, Dr. Odar is certified to read cardiac CT angiography.

 

Daniel J. Goldberg, M.D., F.A.C.C.

GoldbergDr. Daniel J. Goldberg is the immediate past Chairman of Cardiology at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He has served on the Medical Staff Executive Committee and was on the Board of Montgomery General Hospital. He was the Chief of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at Montgomery General Hospital as well.

 Dr. Daniel J. Goldberg attended George Washington University and received his medical degree from the New York Medical College. He was an intern, resident, and chief medical resident at the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Goldberg completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Louisville. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. His professional interests include preventive cardiology, non-invasive cardiology, and nuclear cardiology.

 

John M. Yackee, M.D., F.A.C.C.

YackeeDr. John M. Yackee attended Ithaca College and received his medical degree from George Washington University, where he also completed his internship, residency and cardiology fellowship. Following a year on the teaching staff at George Washington University, he entered private practice. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. His professional interests include non-invasive cardiology.

 

Eric S. Tannenbaum, M.D., F.A.C.C.

TannenbaumDr. Eric S. Tannenbaum attended University of Pittsburgh. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Maryland where he also completed his internship and residency. Dr. Tannenbaum received his training in Cardiology at George Washington University. He has special interest and training in the field of Nuclear Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. 

 

Michael S. Chen, M.D., F.A.C.C.

ChenDr. Michael S. Chen currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Dr. Chen graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Chen finished his general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic. He is an interventional cardiologist who performs both coronary interventions as well as peripheral interventions. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Advanced Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Chen has written several book chapters and published articles in leading cardiology journals. His professional interests include interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions.

 

Sean C. Beinart, M.D., F.A.C.C.

BeinartDr. Sean C. Beinart graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine. He then completed his medical internship and residency at the University of Washington in Seattle where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Beinart finished his general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at Emory University. He is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms. He has expertise in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation in addition to the ablation of complex arrythmias such as atrial fibrillation. Dr. Beinart is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Clinical Electrophysiology.

Dr. Beinart has published in several cardiology journals and is a current peer reviewer for Circulation. He is the Co-Director of the Center for Cardiac and Vascular Research at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland.

 

 Thomas H. Wang, M.D., F.A.C.C.

WangDr. Thomas H. Wang graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Wang finished his general cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic where he served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Wang then completed his Interventional Cardiology training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 2007, Dr. Wang was awarded the Irving Dawson award at the Cleveland Clinic for clinical excellence. He is an interventional cardiologist and performs coronary and peripheral interventions as well as ASD and PFO closures.  He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases as well as Interventional Cardiology and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

He is a co-author and editor of the Manual of the Patient in the CCU, and has published on aspirin resistance and dual antiplatelet therapy. He is the Co-Director of the Center for Cardiac and Vascular Research at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Michael R. Castine, M.D., F.A.C.C.

CastineDr. Michael Castine graduated with Honors from the University of Michigan, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Biopsychology. He then received his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School. From there, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. Subspecialty training in Cardiovascular Diseases was undertaken at Brown University in Providence, RI. He completed his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Castine is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Castine's professional interests include invasive and interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular intervention.

Alexander S. Asser, M.D., F.A.C.C.

AsserDr. Alexander S. Asser graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He obtained his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He then completed his medical internship and residency at George Washington University where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Asser then completed his general cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at George Washington University. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. He has served on the editorial board of a cardiovascular journal and has served as an abstract reviewer for the American College of Cardiology. He has given lectures and authored both book chapters and cardiovascular articles. Dr. Asser is an electrophysiologist and specializes in the management of cardiac arrythmia disorders through the use of implantable devices and cardiac ablation.

Geetha F. Pinto, M.D., F.A.C.C.

PintoDr. Geetha F. Pinto graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  She obtained her medical degree from University of Texas Health Sciences at San Antonio, TX.  She then completed her medical internship and residency at NYP-Columbia University Medical Center, NY.  Dr. Pinto then completed her general cardiology fellowship at Washington Hospital Center-Georgetown University, DC.  Dr. Pinto's professional interests include Non-invasive Cardiology, Cardiac CT angiography, Advanced Echocardiography, Congestive Heart Failure, and Nuclear Cardiology.

Robert DiBianco, M.D., F.A.C.C.

DiBiancoDr. Robert DiBianco attended Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and the State University of New York School of Medicine at Buffalo, completing his Cardiology Fellowship at Georgetown University. He directed the Cardiology Research Clinic at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington DC and has authored 2 nationally distributed patient education booklets. He has contributed importantly to the research of the management of heart failure and is a Board Certified non-interventional cardiologist. He is an Emeritus, Chairman of Medicine at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland. Dr. DiBianco is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

 

Jason A. Badillo, M.M.S., PA-C

BadilloMr. Badillo attended the University of Maryland where he received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiological Studies. He went on to obtain his Physician Assistant Certificate from Anne Arundel Community College and his Masters of Medical Science degree from St. Francis University. He is a member of the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology and his professional interests include preventive cardiology, lipid management and pacemakers.
